What broadway / musical theater songs are good for auditions?
I have an audition coming up for a theater group, and any appropriate musical theater or broadway song idea is good! :]
I am an alto, but have a wide range. Lists of songs and websites are helpful, thanks!

If you’re really good and want to show off: Defying Gravity from Wicked
If you want something more low-key, I’m going to go with a more original RENT suggestion: One Song Glory. Unless you can belt and sing high, in which case Out Tonight might be a better option.
If you want something older and a total classic: Some Enchanted Evening from South Pacific, or Hopelessly Devoted To You from Grease.
If you want something light and fun: So Much Better from Legally Blonde, or Popular from Wicked.
If you want to come off as the classic actress, just go with Seasons of Love from RENT. Everyone worships that song.
